This will establish Ichiro as the third player with a statue at T-Mobile Park, joining Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez. Mariners Chairman John Stanton highlighted Ichiro's record as the most prolific hitter in baseball, emphasizing his global impact. Ichiro currently serves as Special Assistant to the Chairman, actively working with the team.

His retirement speech included a motivational message to the 2025 Mariners, expressing his unwavering support for their success. Stanton confirmed that the statue will feature Ichiro's iconic batting pose, symbolizing his legacy. The statue unveiling date is still to be determined, aligning with Randy Johnson's jersey retirement next year.
