Man arrested in deadly shooting near Happy Valley

Clackamas County deputies responded to a report of a shooting just before 7:00 p. m. on August 1, where they discovered a 36-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a home. The man later died despite immediate medical assistance. Authorities arrested 72-year-old David Lynn Jurgenson, who they believed was the shooter, and he now faces charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Jurgenson remains in custody without bail. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about gun violence in communities. Detectives are actively investigating the relationship between Jurgenson and the victim, who were known to each other.
