The Street Services Coordination Center (SSCC) reported assisting 36 individuals with shelter referrals last week, with 26 accepting offers and 6 utilizing beds for at least one night. The SSCC operates as a collaboration among various city agencies to minimize the impacts of homelessness in Portland, ensuring a compassionate approach to cleanup efforts. From July 21-27, 2025, the Impact Reduction Program received 2,543 new reports of campsites, including 958 related to individuals living in vehicles. The team assessed 978 campsites and safely removed 140 that posed health and safety risks. Since April 2022, the SSCC has made a total of 7,688 shelter referrals, resulting in 2,473 individuals using shelter beds.

Effective July 1, 2025, the city will redirect reports of camps on ODOT properties to ODOT, likely extending response times. The program aims to streamline services for those living outside while addressing urgent health and safety concerns. Community engagement remains a key component of the SSCC's efforts to provide necessary resources and support.
