A disoriented individual was rescued from the South Santiam River in Waterloo, Oregon, by the Lebanon Fire District on Thursday night. Reports of the individual’s condition prompted a swift joint search effort by firefighters and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office after dark. The victim was located about 15 minutes later near the park's upper end and assisted to an ambulance for transport to a hospital for evaluation. Lebanon Fire District emphasizes the critical importance of wearing personal flotation devices while engaging in water activities. They also encourage river-goers to inform others of their plans, including estimated departure and arrival times.
