Police in Portland have identified Damon Lamarr Johnson, 52, who died in custody during a welfare check on June 27 in the Kenton Neighborhood. Officers responded to a call reporting that Johnson was flooding his apartment and hanging knives out of a window. While en route, police requested paramedics to stage nearby. After arriving, officers initiated CPR and transported Johnson to the hospital, where he later died.
