Starting July 1, 2025 Tree Removal Replanting Permit Application process will be fully online

Portland, ORLocal News

Starting on July 1, 2025, Urban Forestry will launch a fully online Tree Removal & Replanting Permit Application process through DevHub, enhancing convenience for applicants. This transition removes the requirement to download and upload separate PDF files, streamlining the application workflow. While site plans and photos are no longer mandatory as of January 2025, applicants are still encouraged to submit them for clarity. Key application requirements include specifying the number of trees for replanting and their species; failing to provide this information will result in an incomplete notice. The changes aim to reduce barriers for residents seeking permits for tree removal and replanting.

Urban Forestry’s initiative reflects a broader trend toward digital solutions in municipal services. The move is expected to improve efficiency and response times for applicants. This adjustment is significant for local residents engaged in tree care and environmental stewardship.
