Rockaway Beach man indicted on multiple charges of sexual abuse

John Dennie Johnson, 64, of Rockaway Beach, faces a total of twelve felony charges after a Tillamook County Grand Jury indictment on June 18, 2025, stemming from allegations of sexual abuse against juveniles. The charges include nine counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, one count of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree, and two counts of Rape. Following the indictment, Johnson was arrested on June 20 at his workplace without incident and is currently held at the Tillamook County Jail on $600,000 bail. Detective Sergeant Michelle Raymond stated that the case required a coordinated investigative effort, underscoring the seriousness of the allegations. Sheriff Joshua Brown emphasized that protecting the victims' privacy remains a top priority in accordance with Oregon law.
