The City of Port Orchard is amending its Municipal Code to incorporate new regulations for Unit Lot Subdivision, aligning with ESSHB 1110, ESSB 2321, EHB 1337, and SB 5184. This adjustment is part of the City’s 2024 Comprehensive Plan aimed at increasing housing availability. The lead agency, after reviewing an environmental checklist, determined that the proposed changes do not have probable adverse environmental impacts. Consequently, an Environmental Impact Statement is not required. Public comments on the DNS will be accepted until May 13, 2025, and appeals can be filed until May 27, 2025.

The proposal is spearheaded by Nicholas Bond, the Director of Community Development. This initiative reflects a proactive approach to meet changing housing needs in Port Orchard. The amendments signify the city's commitment to implementing state housing legislation effectively.
