Port Orchard, WALocal News

The Port Orchard Police Department will host a “Stuff the Patrol Car” food drive on November 1, 2025, at Safeway, located at 3355 Bethel Rd, from 11:00 A. M. to 3:00 P. M. The event aims to support the South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank, which provides assistance to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Community members can contribute by bringing food donations or purchasing items directly from the store. Suggested donations include canned fruits and vegetables, dried beans, pasta, and other holiday food items. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to helping local families during the holiday season. In recent years, food banks have reported increased demand, particularly during the holidays, making such drives crucial. Engaging in this food drive not only addresses immediate needs but also strengthens community bonds.

The police department's involvement underscores the importance of collaboration between local organizations and law enforcement in addressing social issues.
