The City of Port Orchard announced a public comment period for the SR 166 – Bay Street Improvements project, which aims to enhance infrastructure on Bay Street. The application includes major land disturbing activities and a stormwater drainage permit, with a focus on street improvements and utility relocation. Residents have until November 3, 2025, to submit comments, which are crucial for their voices to be heard regarding the project. This proposal was deemed technically complete on October 6, 2025, following its submission on September 8, 2025. Notably, the project is exempt from a SEPA review as stated in Washington Administrative Code.

Interested parties can also request notifications about hearings and decisions related to the application. The Public Works Director will oversee the review of this Type II permit. The city encourages residents to engage with the process to ensure their concerns are addressed.
