Pavement Repair on Sidney Avenue
Port Orchard's Contractor will undertake pavement repairs on Wednesday, October 8th, at the intersection of Sidney Ave. and Fireweed St. , which may cause delays for motorists. The project includes the removal of old asphalt and its replacement with new material. This work is part of the Sidney Road Non-Motorized Improvements project, funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, which seeks to lower climate pollution and support public health initiatives.
The Climate Commitment Act allocates cap-and-invest funds to various environmental projects, including infrastructure improvements. Residents are advised to expect delays and plan accordingly. This initiative underlines Port Orchard’s focus on enhancing local infrastructure while contributing to statewide climate action efforts. The City appreciates the community's patience as the project progresses. Improved road conditions will benefit both motorized and non-motorized traffic in the area.
