Sidney Road Non-Motorized Improvements

Port Orchard, WALocal News

Construction for the Sidney Road Non-Motorized Improvements Project will commence in August 2025, with expectations for completion by early 2026, weather permitting. This initiative will introduce continuous sidewalks, new crosswalks, and dedicated bike lanes to enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The project aims to improve connections to schools, neighborhoods, and the Kitsap Transit Park & Ride. Officials anticipate that these upgrades will reduce conflicts between different modes of transport. Additionally, the project will modernize stormwater systems and extend sewer services to meet future community needs.

Updates on the construction will be available on the City’s website and social media channels. This endeavor is backed by funding from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, which focuses on reducing climate pollution and improving public health. Local families may experience traffic disruptions during the school year as construction progresses.
