Queen Creek Unified School District rolling out app to help kids avoid missing the bus

Phoenix, AZLocal News

Queen Creek Unified School District plans to launch the My Ride K-12 app for parents in the 2025-26 school year, enhancing communication regarding school transportation. The app will provide live updates on bus locations, delays, and notifications when a child's bus is nearing. Parents can also track their child's ridership history through ID scans at bus entry and exit. The district has already tested the app with families during summer school and will roll it out districtwide in August. Back-to-school events will include information sessions to familiarize parents with the app's features.

This initiative is designed to ease parental anxiety about transportation issues, such as missing the bus. The app is compatible with Android and iOS devices, allowing for customizable notifications and schedule management. Enhanced safety measures are also in place, as drivers will be alerted if a student boards the wrong bus or exits unexpectedly.
