Teenager killed in early morning ATV crash in north Phoenix; passenger hurt

A tragic accident involving an ATV in north Phoenix resulted in the death of 17-year-old Edith Ochoa early Monday morning. The Phoenix Police Department reported that the 2017 Can-Am ATV was the only vehicle involved in the incident.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found Ochoa unresponsive and she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. A 20-year-old male passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Witnesses indicated that the ATV was found tipped over on its side, leading authorities to believe Ochoa lost control while driving west on Beardsley Road.
