Suspect in fatal shooting at University of Arizona sought by police

Authorities at the University of Arizona are on the hunt for Ryan Romero-Encinas, a 20-year-old suspect implicated in the fatal shooting of Minhaj Jamshidi, a 19-year-old student at Pima Community College. The shooting occurred late Sunday night at the volleyball courts, where a fight broke out among several individuals. Despite emergency personnel's life-saving efforts, Jamshidi could not be revived and died at the scene. Romero-Encinas is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 175 pounds, with curly brown hair and hazel eyes, and has a tattoo of the name "Nicole" on his right forearm. University police have executed search warrants at two off-campus properties but have not yet found Romero-Encinas.

They are collaborating with the FBI and the U. S. Marshals Service to apprehend him. Authorities have reassured the community that this incident appears to be isolated, posing no further threat. Anyone with information regarding Romero-Encinas is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
