Phoenix exceeds annual average rainfall as storms approach. See total so far

Phoenix, AZLocal News

Phoenix has officially surpassed its annual average rainfall, recording 7. 71 inches as of November 18. The average for the year is 7. 22 inches, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Ryan Worley. A weather system is expected to bring additional showers, with some areas in the Valley receiving between 0.

75 to 1 inch of rain. However, Worley cautioned that not all locations will see this level of precipitation, and some may remain dry. In addition to the rain, temperatures are forecasted to drop significantly, with highs in the high-60s to low-70s—approximately 10 degrees below average. This follows an exceptionally warm start to November, which was one of the hottest on record. The low risk for severe weather conditions, such as lightning or flooding, contributes to a generally safe weather outlook.

This shift in weather patterns is expected to provide relief to residents after a prolonged warm spell.
