Sand No Longer Available for Sandbags at Select Phoenix Parks

Phoenix, AZLocal News

The City of Phoenix has confirmed that sand for sandbags is no longer available at designated parks, following a surge in demand. Previously, residents could access sand at locations such as Paseo Highlands Park and Paradise Valley Park to prepare for potential flooding during the Monsoon season. The city provided this service free of charge, but users were responsible for bringing their own bags and shovels. Sand was distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies were depleted. The Public Works Department has emphasized the importance of preparedness as storms are still forecasted for the season.

Additionally, the department offers various services to help residents clear debris after storms. This initiative reflects the city’s commitment to community safety and flood management. Local officials urge residents to stay informed about weather updates and remain proactive in flood preparations.
