Fentanyl Awareness Video Contest For College Students

Phoenix, AZLocal News

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office invites college students to participate in a PSA competition focusing on the fentanyl crisis among teens. The contest encourages students to create a 26-second video that effectively communicates the dangers of fentanyl and its prevalence in counterfeit drugs. All entries must be submitted by March 10, 2024, and a panel will judge the submissions from March 11 to 29. The winning PSA will premiere on May 7, coinciding with National Fentanyl Awareness Day, and will be used in various state-wide media campaigns. Contestants must ensure that their videos include original content and reference credible sources, such as data from the CDC or DEA.

The winner will receive special recognition from Attorney General Mayes, highlighting the importance of community engagement in addressing this public health issue. This initiative seeks to empower students to leverage their creativity while making a significant impact on their peers. The epidemic of fentanyl overdose deaths among teens underscores the urgency of this campaign.
