Is this the 'ugliest' building in Arizona? See why new survey says so

Phoenix, AZLocal News

Flagstaff City Hall has earned the title of the ugliest building in Arizona, as revealed in a recent survey by the New Jersey Real Estate Network. This building, located at 211 W. Aspen Ave. in downtown Flagstaff, was ranked No. 81 among the 100 ugliest public buildings in the U.

S. The survey, based on responses from over 3,000 people, did not provide specific reasons for the building's placement on the list. Built in the 1980s, the city hall features a unique architectural style that combines brick, rock walls, and exposed wooden beams, reflecting the city's history and location. Despite its unflattering recognition, Flagstaff is home to many beautiful historic buildings, including the Weatherford Hotel and the Coconino County Superior Court. The community remains divided on the aesthetics of the city hall, prompting local editor Shelby Slade to invite nominations for both beautiful and unattractive buildings.

The survey highlights a broader conversation about architectural appreciation and community identity. The results can be found on the New Jersey Real Estate Network's website.
