The White Sage Fire, ignited on July 9, now spans 58,985 acres and is 81% contained, as reported by the Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team. U. S. Route 89A has reopened, allowing public access, but officials warn of lingering smoke. The Dragon Bravo Fire, which began on July 4, has expanded to 35,456 acres and is just 26% contained, having damaged key tourist areas.

Strong winds on July 25 intensified the blaze, leading firefighters to bolster perimeter defenses. The Kaibab Lodge, located near the fire's edge, shared a photo of thick smoke and called for community support for firefighters. With over 1,300 personnel on-site, the Great Basin team plans to transition fire management to the Color Country Team 2 as containment efforts progress. Crews are optimistic about achieving full containment by July 30, based on current conditions. Together, the fires have scorched more than 94,000 acres across the region.
