Watch out for these weekend closures along Loop 101 in metro Phoenix

Phoenix, AZLocal News

Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will close at Loop 101 from 9 p. m. July 25 to 5 a. m. July 28 for a widening project, impacting traffic in both directions.

Simultaneously, 31st Avenue will also be closed for bridge work from 10 p. m. July 25 until 5 a. m. July 28.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) urges drivers to use alternate routes and allow for extra travel time. Detours include utilizing the Loop 101 frontage roads and taking 27th or 35th avenues to avoid closures. ADOT confirmed that there will be no full freeway closures in metro Phoenix during this period. Drivers can stay updated on traffic conditions through az511. gov or by calling 511.

This construction aims to improve road capacity and safety in the area. The closures are expected to cause delays, so planning ahead is recommended.
