Broken fridges, bad plumbing among violations at Phoenix-area restaurants

Maricopa County health inspectors identified 13 health code violations across three Phoenix restaurants during the week of June 16, highlighting significant concerns in food safety practices. Korean BBQ & Hot Pot faced five priority violations, including improper food storage and inadequate hot-holding temperatures. Lolo's Chicken & Waffles received four priority violations, mainly due to cross-contamination risks and plumbing issues. Morning Squeeze was cited for multiple violations, including improper storage of raw ingredients. In total, inspectors reviewed over 1,530 food-serving facilities that week, with approximately 375 achieving "A" ratings.

Priority violations pose an increased risk of foodborne illness, prompting immediate corrective actions. Health officials noted that compliance with health codes is essential for safeguarding public health. Continuous monitoring and reinspection will follow to ensure improvements.
