Man accused of doing surgeries on animals in Phoenix garage 16 dogs rescued

Phoenix, AZLocal News

Edgar Glover, 37, was taken into custody in Phoenix on June 24 after being accused of performing unlicensed animal surgeries, including ear cropping and tail docking. Police rescued 16 dogs from his residence, which lacked basic necessities like food and water. The investigation began after The Good Vets animal hospital alerted authorities about a dog exhibiting signs of pain following surgery. Glover charged an owner $400 for the procedure, which left the dog in distress and without pain relief. During a search of Glover's home, authorities found a setup resembling a veterinary clinic, complete with surgical equipment and medications.

Some dogs were reported to have severe health issues, including scalding on their feet and cherry eye. Glover faces 16 counts of animal cruelty, possession of a dangerous drug, and operating as a veterinarian without a license. His prior conviction for a drive-by shooting prohibits him from possessing firearms, leading to additional charges.
