City of Philadelphia Launches Mobile Site to Locate Lactation Spaces for Public Use

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Philadelphia launched the Lactation Spaces Finder App to aid nursing parents in identifying accessible lactation spaces throughout the city. This initiative is in response to the PUMP Act, which ensures nursing employees have the right to private areas for expressing milk. The app offers features such as a map of locations and filtering by amenities. Mayor Cherelle Parker stated that the app embodies the city's commitment to inclusivity and support for families. Currently, it lists 26 spaces, with plans for further expansion.

The app, developed by the Office of Innovation and Technology, is powered by an open dataset to promote transparency.
