West Oak Lane Woman Realizes Homeownership Dream Thanks to Register of Wills

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Rose Marie Crisp achieved her dream of homeownership with help from the Title Clearance Unit (TCU) at the Philadelphia Register of Wills. The TCU, created in 2024, assists residents in resolving tangled titles for inherited properties, which can hinder homeownership. Register of Wills John P. Sabatina highlighted the significance of homeownership in fostering generational wealth and community stability. Crisp, who had only lived in shared accommodations before, now relishes the independence of owning her first home.

She actively works with Councilmember Cindy Bass’ staff to identify home improvement incentives and property tax relief programs. Crisp expressed gratitude for the opportunity to create a family-oriented space. The TCU has helped numerous city residents since its inception, further emphasizing its role in community development. Homeownership remains a critical pathway to securing financial stability for families in Philadelphia.
