Parker acknowledged the library’s historical significance, noting its service to the community since 1915. The renovation introduced state-of-the-art features, including new HVAC systems, ADA upgrades, and a media hub, enhancing accessibility for all patrons.

City Council President Kenyatta Johnson expressed excitement about the new resources available to local youth, emphasizing the library's role in fostering dreams and skills. The project also received additional funding, including a $200,000 donation from the Knight Foundation. This renovation is part of a broader initiative, with six library projects completed this year, amounting to over $37 million in investments. The Free Library of Philadelphia’s President, Kelly Richards, highlighted the library's role in uniting the community.
