Mayors Internship Program (MIP) Spotlight Kai Moore

Kai Moore, a health science graduate from Lincoln University, is interning with the City of Philadelphia through the Mayor’s Internship Program. Initially placed in the Office of Talent and Employee Success, she created surveys and newsletters, enhancing her public speaking and event planning skills. Moore had the opportunity to shadow professionals at the Medical Examiner’s Office, where she learned about departmental operations. Now in the Human Resources department, she interviews employees and produces videos to highlight their roles and community impact. This experience has deepened her understanding of how local government functions and the significance of community engagement.

Moore's work reflects the city's commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering professional growth. As she concludes her internship, she carries forward invaluable lessons and connections that will shape her career. Her journey exemplifies the transformative potential of local government programs for youth involvement in civic affairs.
