Mayors Internship Program (MIP) Spotlight Kai Moore

Kai Moore, a recent graduate of Lincoln University, is interning with the City of Philadelphia as part of the Mayor’s Internship Program. In her role, she has contributed to the Office of Talent and Employee Success, where she created surveys and newsletters, practiced public speaking, and participated in important meetings. Moore emphasized the commitment of city employees to community welfare and the professional development of young adults. She also gained unique insights while shadowing the lead pathologist at the Medical Examiner’s Office, learning about departmental operations. Currently, she is assisting in the Human Resources department by interviewing employees and creating informative videos about their roles.

Moore expressed how her internship has shown her the significance of government decisions in effecting change. As she concludes her internship, she reflects on the invaluable connections and lessons learned that will influence her future career. This experience demonstrates the importance of community engagement and professional development for young adults.
