Parsippany, NJLocal News

Sanjana Medapati, a senior at The Academy for Mathematics, Science & Engineering, spearheads a project to honor local veterans by creating celebratory banners. Motivated by her brother's experience at the U. S. Military Academy, Sanjana has developed a profound respect for service members' sacrifices. The banners will feature each veteran’s name, branch of service, and years of duty, serving as a public tribute.

She is currently seeking community submissions to include veterans from Parsippany, emphasizing that “it’s important that we, as a community, never forget their contributions. ” Sanjana aims to foster a sense of appreciation and remembrance through this initiative. Her project is part of her Girl Scout Gold Award, which reflects a commitment to community service. The banners will provide lasting recognition of veterans' contributions to the nation. Community support is crucial for the project's success, inviting residents to participate in honoring those who served.
