Joziah Johnson, a standout athlete from George Mason University, defended his title in the 400-meter hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships with a personal best of 51. 10 seconds. Competing as a sophomore, Johnson faced challenges in the preliminary round but rallied to finish first in his heat, securing the top seed for the finals. His victory not only earned him gold but also elevated his ranking in the university's all-time records from ninth to fifth. Johnson also contributed to the George Mason 4×400 meter relay team's win, which clinched the men's team conference championship—the first since 2019.

The men's team narrowly defeated the University of Rhode Island by just 1. 5 points in a highly competitive meet. Johnson's achievements have garnered attention and pride within the Parsippany High community. He now prepares for the NCAA Division I East Regionals in Jacksonville, Florida, where he aims to continue his successful season.
