College Nursing Director Honored as Health Care Hero

Eleni Pellazgu, the director of nursing at County College of Morris (CCM), has been recognized as a 2025 Health Care Heroes Honoree by NJBIZ in the Education Hero category. This award celebrates her contributions to health education and her commitment to training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Pellazgu holds a doctorate in nursing practice and has overseen the graduation of over 5,000 students from the college's nursing program. Under her leadership, the program has achieved a remarkable 100 percent pass rate for its last two cohorts on the National Council for Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. In addition to her academic role, she serves as a nurse practitioner for Atlantic Health.

The NJBIZ award honors individuals making a significant impact on health care quality in New Jersey. The ceremony is scheduled for June 24 at The Palace at Somerset Park. Tickets for the event are available until June 19.
