Three Exceptional High-School Seniors to Receive Community Service Scholarships

Parsippany, NJLocal News

The William Kogen Award for Community Service recognized three outstanding high school seniors this year, expanding from its typical two recipients due to an exceptional applicant pool. Albert Ott from Kinnelon High School, Hong Jin Cao from Montville Township High School, and Emily Smith from Parsippany High School each exemplified the values of dedication, compassion, and social responsibility. They will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their educational pursuits. The award ceremony will take place at the YMCA's Annual Dinner Meeting on June 25, bringing together community leaders and families to celebrate the impact of youth leadership. Named after William Kogen, a dedicated advocate for youth programs, the award underscores the YMCA's mission to foster community strength through achievement and belonging.

The event will also provide insights into the YMCA's future plans for its Health and Fitness Center. Community members are encouraged to attend and witness the celebration of these young changemakers. The recognition aims to inspire further community involvement and support for youth initiatives.
