Local Students Honored as MPAC Music Students of the Month

The Mayo Performing Arts Center honored exceptional students from Parsippany as Music Students of the Month during a performance of HMS Pinafore on May 9. Olesya Cybyk, an 8th grader at Brooklawn Middle School, was nominated for her leadership as lead alto saxophone in both the concert band and jazz band, demonstrating remarkable growth as a musician. Carlos Ramirez, a senior at Parsippany High School, has been an integral part of the music department since his freshman year, serving as a student leader and assisting in conducting during performances. Emily Thormann, also in 8th grade at Brooklawn, garnered recognition for her impressive progress as a lead trumpet player and her dedication to music. The MPAC Music Student of the Month program highlights outstanding young musicians throughout the season.

A final recital featuring the honorees is scheduled for June 4 at 6:00 p. m. , showcasing their talents. The program is supported by The Walter F. and Alice Gorham Foundation, Inc.
