Musella and Resident Tag-Team to Finally Address DOT Substation Eyesore

Parsippany, NJLocal News

The Department of Transportation (DOT) upgraded its substation on Route 202, addressing long-standing resident complaints about the site’s appearance. Councilman Musella met with residents in August 2024 to discuss operational concerns, including machinery stationed and the need for reforestation. After extensive planning and follow-ups, the DOT scheduled planting for May 2025, once the risk of frost had passed. Resident Karl Journey, who led the initiative, thanked Musella for taking action, citing years of complaints since 2017 that went unaddressed by previous administrations. In a separate event, a Promotion Ceremony recognized six Parsippany Police Officers for their achievements, with four promoted to Sergeant and two to Lieutenant.

Among the promoted were Sgt. Thomas Lesiak and Sgt. Earl Kinsey, who have both served over two decades in the department. These developments reflect a commitment to community improvement and acknowledgment of public service within Parsippany-Troy Hills. The collaboration between residents and local government underscores the importance of civic engagement in local issues.
