Youth-Led Nonprofit to Host Organ Donation Awareness Event at Parsippany Library

A Second Chance Project will lead an organ donation awareness event at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library on April 27, 2025. This free program aims to educate the community about the importance of organ donation through personal stories from transplant recipients and donor families. Attendees will receive vital statistics highlighting the urgency of the issue and learn how to register as donors. “We want to help our community understand that becoming a donor is not only possible—it’s one of the most meaningful decisions you can make,” said Meghana Metla, a representative of the nonprofit. The event will include an interactive Q&A session and opportunities for attendees to become volunteer advocates.

Organ donation remains a critical issue, with many lives lost due to the lack of available organs. A Second Chance Project emphasizes the transformative impact of becoming a donor, aiming to inspire action within the community. This initiative seeks to empower individuals of all ages regarding organ donation and to foster a culture of awareness and advocacy.
