Parsippany-Troy Hills Water Department to Begin Annual Hydrant Flushing Program

Parsippany, NJLocal News

The annual Hydrant Inspection and Flushing Program in Parsippany-Troy Hills will commence on April 13, running through May 17, to ensure the integrity of the township's water system. Crews will perform flushing operations during the night, concluding by 6:00 a. m. to minimize disruption. This essential initiative increases water flow and helps eliminate minerals and deposits that build up in the mains over time.

While residents will not experience interruptions to water service, temporary changes in water pressure and discoloration may occur during the process. Such discoloration is normal and does not pose health risks; residents are advised to run their cold water taps until the water runs clear. Additionally, it's recommended to check water clarity before using dishwashers or washing machines. Should residents notice ongoing issues with water pressure or volume post-flushing, they should inspect their faucet screens for trapped particles. For further inquiries or concerns, residents can reach out to the Water Department during business hours.
