Pulkit Desai has officially been elected as the new Mayor of Parsippany-Troy Hills, defeating incumbent James R. Barberio by a mere 80 votes in a tightly contested election. Desai received 9,978 votes, which accounted for 50. 05% of the total, while Barberio garnered 9,898 votes, or 49. 65%.

Democrats also secured both open seats on the Township Council, with Matt Kavanagh and Diya Patel winning against their Republican opponents. This election results in a Democratic majority for the first time in several years, alongside Councilwoman Judy Hernandez, who is poised to become Council President. The voter turnout was notably high, with nearly 20,000 residents participating, reflecting strong engagement on local issues like development and taxes. Desai expressed gratitude to all voters, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in democracy. The new leadership is expected to guide the township into a new direction starting in 2026.
