Morris County Declares Operation Green Light for Veterans Week
Morris County invites residents to honor veterans by participating in "Operation Green Light for Veterans Week," scheduled from November 4 to November 11. The Board of County Commissioners adopted this initiative to raise awareness of resources available for veterans transitioning to civilian life. Commissioner Director Tayfun Selen highlighted the campaign as a powerful expression of gratitude for those who have served. Throughout the week, several county buildings, including the Morris County Courthouse and the Veterans Services Office, will be illuminated in green. Residents can show their support by placing green lights at their homes and sharing photos on social media with the hashtag #OperationGreenLight.
The county will also host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 5, honoring local veterans with Distinguished Military Service Medals. The ceremony will celebrate the 250th birthday of the U. S. Marine Corps and pay tribute to Medal of Honor recipient Cpl. Charles Fern Hopkins, Sr.
Morris County continues to strengthen its outreach and support for veterans through various programs and services.
