K. , was pronounced dead at the scene, while Lubov Sakovich, a passenger in Ciofu's vehicle, suffered bodily injuries.

Ciofu now faces charges of disorderly persons assault by auto in addition to vehicular homicide. After her First Appearance, she received pretrial release, and a pre-indictment conference is scheduled before Judge Robert M. Hanna on December 15, 2025. The investigation involved the Chester Township Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
