Parsippany's community walk on October 26 raised $377,936 for breast cancer research, striving to meet a $535,000 goal. Joan Van Soest led individual efforts with $20,621, while teams like "Rising to the Challenge" and "The Fighting Champions" collectively inspired significant contributions. Organizers highlighted the importance of community support, with Melissa Gargantiel stating, “Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world without breast cancer. ” Over 6,000 participants walked in solidarity, showcasing local commitment to the cause.
