Parsippany Police Charge Woman with DUI After Vehicle Found Disabled on Sylvan Way
Amanda Soto, 33, was charged with driving under the influence after Parsippany police discovered her in a disabled vehicle on Sylvan Way late at night. Officer Thomas Lally observed the vehicle obstructing traffic and noted Soto's slurred speech and the smell of alcohol emanating from the car. After failing several field sobriety tests, she was arrested and transported to the hospital for evaluation due to her behavior while in custody. A search of her vehicle uncovered a half-empty 750ml bottle of vodka, further supporting the DUI charges. Officers collected blood samples under a McNeely warrant at the hospital.
Soto was processed at the Parsippany Police Headquarters and released to a responsible party. This incident underscores the dangers of impaired driving and its impact on local traffic safety. The charges against Soto are accusations, with the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
