Parsippany Students Raise 3,000 for Food Pantry and Fire Department Through Cards for a Cause FUNdRAISER

Parsippany, NJLocal News

Students in Parsippany raised $3,000 for local charities during the fifth annual “Cards for a Cause” FUNdRAISER, with $2,000 designated for the Parsippany Food Pantry and $1,000 for the Mt. Tabor Volunteer Fire Department. Led by 10-year-old Vivan Bhattacharya, the initiative involved twenty-two young artists who designed and sold handmade greeting cards. The success stemmed from the hard work of volunteers and supportive parents, who contributed numerous hours to the project. Community partnerships, particularly with The UPS Store in Lake Hiawatha, played a crucial role by providing printing discounts for the children's artwork.

Organizers encourage participation from Parsippany's youngest artists in future events to promote ongoing kindness through creativity. Stephanie Parise of Garden Savings Federal Credit Union highlighted the importance of community involvement, stating, “Today reminds all of us that Garden Savings is more than transactions — it’s relationships, it’s support, it’s community. ” The initiative exemplifies the positive impact that youth-led efforts can have on local communities. Parsippany is eager to see what Vivan and his team accomplish in the coming years.
