Preschool Advantage Breaks Record 113 Children Secured Placements Amid Growing Need

Parsippany, NJLocal News

Preschool Advantage, based in Morristown, successfully placed 113 children in high-quality preschools for the 2025-2026 school year, the largest class in its history. This milestone represents a 40% increase in applications since 2018, underscoring the escalating demand for affordable preschool education in Morris and Somerset Counties. Executive Director Nancy Bangiola stated that the organization’s growth reflects the trust families have in its services, although many families still await assistance. The closure of New Jersey’s Child Care Assistance Program has further amplified the need for support, highlighting the critical role of Preschool Advantage in providing educational opportunities. This year's cohort is diverse, with 96% of families at or below the basic income level, 35% from single-parent households, and 23% speaking a language other than English at home.

For 30 years, Preschool Advantage has partnered with 30 preschools to ensure children ages 3-4 receive quality education, which studies show is vital for kindergarten readiness. Since its inception, the organization has funded over 1,500 tuitions, helping children succeed as they enter school. Applications for the upcoming school year will open on January 15, 2026.
