Durga Puja 2025 A Cultural Extravaganza in Parsippany

The Indian Community Center of Garden State (ICCGS) will host its 33rd annual Durga Puja on October 4 and 5 at Parsippany High School, running from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. each day.

This festival honors Goddess Durga, a symbol of victory and empowerment, and has served as a vital cultural gathering for the Bengali community in New Jersey for over 30 years. Participants can enjoy a variety of performances, including traditional music and dance, along with savory Bengali dishes that celebrate the region's rich culinary heritage. Volunteers play a crucial role in the event, from constructing mandaps to preparing bhog and Prasad, showcasing community spirit and dedication. The celebration features key rituals such as Dhunuchi Naach and Sindoor Khela, marking the festive spirit and the blessings of Maa Durga. Attendees will find a home away from home, filled with cultural expressions like alpona designs and Mahalaya chants.
