Aum Shah, a senior at the Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering in Parsippany, NJ, received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor from Congress for young Americans. He has dedicated over 400 hours to community service, positively impacting students with learning challenges and mentoring peers in STEM subjects. As Co-Captain of the Krypton Warriors robotics team, Aum led them to the New Jersey State Semifinals, demonstrating his leadership skills. He developed the “Power of Clean Water” app to promote sustainability and was recognized with the Ferring STEM Star Pin for his achievements in science. Maintaining an active lifestyle through competitive tennis and biking, Aum exemplifies perseverance.

His educational journey included explorations in Japan, where he visited significant cultural and scientific sites. Aum’s accomplishments reflect the values of the Congressional Award Program, emphasizing service, innovation, and global exploration. His receipt of the Gold Medal stands as a testament to his years of dedication and leadership.
