Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon swore in Chief Sheriff’s Officer Aaron D. Tomasini during a ceremony at the Morris County Administration and Records Building, attended by officials and community members. Tomasini, who began his law enforcement career in July 2005, served in various capacities, including as a K-9 handler and bomb technician. He highlighted the significance of relationships in leadership, saying, “The partnerships we form and sustain are the foundation of our collective success.

” A veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, he currently holds the rank of major in the New Jersey Army National Guard, where he has over two decades of service. His academic background includes degrees in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, management, and human resources. Sheriff Gannon praised Tomasini’s integrity and leadership skills, asserting that he would elevate the Sheriff's Office's community relations. Tomasini's pledge to empower his team is indicative of his commitment to fostering a supportive environment. This leadership change is expected to positively impact public safety in Morris County.
