Parsippany, NJLocal News

The Morris County Division of Public Health, in collaboration with the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority, will conduct a free lead testing event on July 19 from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. at the Morris County Library in Whippany.

Residents are encouraged to bring household items, including toys, dishes, and antiques, which will be tested for lead contamination using an XRF Lead Detector that provides results in minutes. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of lead exposure, especially for children, and to promote safer home environments. Lead poisoning can lead to serious health issues, making the removal of contaminated objects crucial. Attendees will have the opportunity to safely discard any lead-contaminated items on-site. The service is free of charge, and no appointment is necessary, ensuring accessibility for all residents.

For additional information, residents can reach out to the Morris County Division of Public Health at (973) 631-5484. This event highlights ongoing efforts to protect public health in the community.
