Applebees Celebrates 21 Years of Fighting Childhood Cancer with Alexs Lemonade Stand Foundation

Parsippany, NJLocal News

Applebee’s has begun its annual fundraiser for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, pledging to donate 50¢ from every NEW Strawberry Lemon Sunshine sold until August 31. This marks the 21st year of their partnership, which has successfully raised over $18 million since 2005 for pediatric cancer research. Customers can enhance their impact by adding Digital Lemons in amounts ranging from $1 to $20 when ordering online or donating while buying gift cards. John Peyton, president of Applebee’s, highlighted the importance of community involvement in supporting childhood cancer research. The foundation was inspired by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who raised $1 million through her lemonade stand before her passing at age 8.

ALSF has since grown into the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U. S. , funding critical research and family support programs. Local Applebee’s restaurants will transform into “Lemonade Stands,” encouraging guests to participate in fundraising efforts. This initiative not only raises funds but also increases awareness of childhood cancer and the need for continued research.
