Parsippany, NJLocal News

Building Materials Manufacturing in Parsippany is now barred from securing government contracts after being added to New Jersey's Workplace Accountability in Labor List for $71,724. 10 in unpaid taxes. The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) confirmed the addition of eight businesses this month. Established in 2020, The WALL aims to combat wage theft, worker misclassification, and labor law violations, listing 280 businesses with a combined debt of over $26 million. NJDOL states that this list is a critical enforcement tool to hold companies accountable for neglecting required worker contributions.

Before being added, businesses receive a warning and a 20-day window to resolve issues, emphasizing the program's proactive approach. Since its inception, NJDOL has recovered more than $650,000 from employers warned or listed. The WALL’s online platform allows for easy searches of businesses by name and location, enhancing transparency. State procurement officials must consult The WALL before awarding public contracts, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
