High School Seniors Across Parsippany Engage in Senior Internship Experience with the Help of Local Businesses

The internship program for seniors in Parsippany allows students to replace traditional classes with practical work experience after AP exams. This initiative requires participants to complete 80 to 90 hours of work within a five to six-week timeframe and has attracted over 200 students this spring. Launched by business teachers Chrissy Russell and Elizabeth O’Boyle, the program has seen rapid growth since its experimental phase four years ago. Local businesses have joined in, providing mentorship across various industries, enhancing students' career readiness. Aryan Masaldan, an intern at a prosthetics company, expressed satisfaction with the real-world experience gained through the program.

The program's success reflects strong community support and the need for practical training in education. It has become a vital resource for students to explore their career interests and prepare for life beyond high school. The positive response from both students and local businesses underscores its significance in shaping young professionals.
